Writers must welcome feedback. So, I always do.
In my last Culture Cul-de-Sac column, Starmag Sunday Star, in Standing by their unfaithful men I questioned why some women still stand by their men. After they are publicly humiliated by their husbands, who were unfaithful to them. This is after the husbands admit their guilt and publicly claim to dearly love their wives. Then, they make it a point to ask their wives for forgiveness - all on the pages of tabloids.
These two responses were part of the feedback I received.

Many uneducated women need to stand by their men as they are their only source of financial income and emotional support.
Even Hillary Clinton stood by her straying hubby because he's the president of USA. Had he been a nobody, I am not sure if she will continue to support him.
Princess Diana was different. Look at what happened to her after that!
this is an extremely difficult question, to which no answer would be correct ( correct, correct ). i think women are more forgiving than men, accepting that the institution of commitment, if so well founded, can withstand the incursions of weaknessess. it doesnt justify the perpetrator but this has happened for thousands of years before, and im sure, will be so for the next thousand. nobody will have the correct answer. ramesh
